Rafiki Micro-Finance Bank is a financial institution licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya to offer a wide range of banking services.
Rafiki Microfinance Bank is incorporated in the Republic of Kenya of P.O Box 12755-00400 Nairobi and whose registered office is Biashara Street, Rafiki House, Nairobi.
The bank as an enabler shall assume the following roles and responsibilities:
1. Sourcing and mobilization of special affordable housing and social funds in the financial market to accelerate and competitively deliver affordable housing
2. Bank Account Management- Project cash administration through a project escrow account management
3. Engagement of all potential off-takers for appraisal/ evaluation based on the preferred payment options
4. End user financing/ mortgage product where applicable
5. Leverage on the banking infrastructure for marketing of this partnership across the bank database and stakeholders
6. Construction guarantees/ financial instruments based on secured off-takers
7. Project Monitoring during implementation as a safeguard, in conjunction with Rafiki Homes Ltd.
8. Managing individual/ personal accounts of off-takers during and after the construction period.
9. Disbursement of funds/ fees recoverable to the respective parties of the partnership based on agreed payment terms
Rafiki Homes Limited is a subsidiary of Rafiki Microfinance Bank mandated to offer affordable houses and real estate products.
Rafiki Homes is incorporated in the Republic of Kenya of P.O Box 12755-00400 Nairobi and whose registered office is Biashara Street Rafiki House, Nairobi.
Rafiki Homes shall operate as an agent to Rafiki Bank and shall assume the following responsibilities:
1. Profiling and sourcing for both clients/ off-takers and investors in need of affordable houses and affordable housing opportunities respectively;
2. Facilitate demand aggregation- have a structured engagement to develop both internal market (members/ investors) and external/ open market for the Chamas.
3. As a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) on behalf of Rafiki Bank to act in a Joint Venture (JV) arrangement where investment/ property is jointly owned with Rafiki Bank.
4. Review designs done by Turnkey Contractors and approve them as per the customer’s off-taker expectation;
5. Monitor and validate project implementation on behalf of Rafiki Bank to completion.
